I am so excited to finally be able to share with you guys an exciting project that KFC have been working on during LFW. It is no secret that I love food and I would have to say my favourite fast food is KFC, hot wings are definitely my weakness!
When they came to me with a project during fashion week you can imagine I was a little baffled as KFC is not something I would normally associate with fashion but bare with me, it makes perfect sense!
KFC have a new addition to their menu, it is the Rice Box. Made up of famous KFC chicken on a bed of Tex Mex rice, bean salsa, sour cream and lettuce topped with a choice of Original Recipe, Zinger or Pulled Chicken. I think I am most excited about these boxes because they are a healthier alternative to fast food, with each box around 500 calories, so perfect for us health conscious fashionistas. Sounds amazing right!? *heads to KFC...* Along side their first lunchtime product, burritos, KFC launched the Pack More Into Lunch campaign, designed to inspire the nation to get out and make the most of their lunch hour and this is where LFW comes in...
This time KFC challenged designer Katie Eary to create a fashion collection in a lunch hour, and launch it on the runway when the 60 minutes is up. I think you will be amazed at the results!
Katie Eary commenting on the collection; “My designs are about pushing boundaries and that’s what KFC is encouraging with the Pack More Into Lunch challenge, so it was a natural partnership. To cut, sew and even press the garments to be runway-ready in an hour is one of my biggest challenges to-date, but watching it come to life was a magical moment and just proves how much can be achieved once you put your mind to it.”
As you can see from the above I think she did an amazing job! All that in one hour! I already want to get my hands on a pair of those fluffy heels! You can see the video of the catwalk show and all the BTS footage here:
Following Katie Earys challenge KFC have challenged myself and 3 other bloggers to pack more into our lunch hour during LFW which you will find out all about on the 20th September so be sure to check back on my blog then to find out more...
